THE ALMIGHTY ADOMI BRIDGE.

Here is another "must see" sight of Ghana..the Adomi Bridge which spans over the Volta River at Atimpoku is the only suspension bridge in Ghana and reputed to be among the few found all over the world. This important tourist attraction which is a masterpieces of civil and architectural work was built in 1956 and has a total lenth of 805 feet.

The bridge promotes tourism in the district and a view from the bridge exposes the natural beauty of the hill top...the key feature of this bridge is the impressive arch....it rises from the horizon just like a "silver" RAINBOW.






....there are boat rides on the river and they take you under the bridge for you to have a close-up view of the bridge from the base.





THE BREATH TAKING AKOSOMBO DAM.

                  Key features of the first thing to do upon arriving at the Akosombo Dam......
 Visitors are expected to pick their security passes..,after going through the formality..,you will drive to community 1 where the dam is situated. On your way to the hills you will find the breath taking view of the Volta river below.
You will be taken to the control room where you will be welcomed by the engineers on duty and your tour will be conducted by a senior manager in the control room...You will be taken through the day to day functions of the team and the various sections of the giant electronic board with several blinking lights signalling their activities



the environment is classic and scenery breathtaking.......
You will also be taken to the basement or the ground floor of the dam...this place is very cold and one will actually feel a sense of emptiness with your adrenaline rushing...cos you are virtually below the gushing water and you could hear the water rushing through the pen stocks...
from this point visitors will drive in a bus and get to the top of the dam...where you will have the opportunity to see the large reservoir....another thing you will see is the giant crane..,a saddle dam is also another feature of the dam site.    The site is captivating !

Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum 
Here is one of the "must see sight" of Ghana. .This museum holds the remains of the first president of Ghana Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. The Museum was created in his honor after which his body was exhumed from his original burial ground at his home town-Nkroful.


The Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum and memorial park is located in downtown Accra, the capital of Ghana. It is dedicated to the prominent Ghanaian leader Kwame Nkrumah. This is where his important personal belongings are kept...

Kwame Nkrumah (21 September 1909 – 27 April 1972) was the leader of Ghana and it's predecessor state, the Gold Coast, from 1951 to 1966. Overseeing the nation's independence from British colonial rule in 1957, Nkrumah was the first President of Ghana and the first Prime Minister of Ghana. An influential 20th-century advocate of Pan-Africanism, he was a founding member of the Organization of African Unity and was the winner of the Lenin Peace Prize in 1963. He saw himself as an African Lenin.
